Welcome to the UT Arlington Genomics Core Facility
Exploration of gene activity lies at the heart of all life science research. With its rapid development in the past decade, genomics has become a mainstay in many arenas and revolutionized modern biomedical research. Virtually every human ailment has some basis in our genes. Until recently, scientists were able to take the study of genes, or genetics, into consideration only in cases of birth defects and a limited set of other diseases. Large-scale sequencing and emerging techniques in functional genomics are changing the way we approach and understand fundamental questions in biology and the complexity of living organisms.
The Genomics Core Facility (GCF) provides UT Arlington with one of the top interdisciplinary research facilities in North Texas. Open to all departments, research partners, and businesses, the GCF provides affordable access to state-of-the-art equipment. Current research partners include Biology, Engineering, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemistry, Psychology, Social Work, Kinesiology and local start-up companies.
